Custom Work

toolsBeadworks Boston, Cambridge and Salem are pleased to accept most stringing and knotting repairs that involve beads. By definition a repair is the exact reconstruction of an existing, broken or worn-out piece of jewelry. We accept weaving repairs on a case by case basis.  We do not accept repairs that require soldering. A reputable jeweler in your area is always your best resource for soldering repairs.

Many jewelry repairs we can actually teach you to do yourself. We teach classes year round and we lend tools in the shops, sell most necessary materials, and offer friendly staff support on weekdays.

We hope you will understand that on the weekends we are frequently too busy to offer the level of customer service you deserve when learning to do your own repairs. Please stop in any weekday and let us assist you with your beaded jewelry repairs.

When we accept a repair from you, we will give you a written estimate of both time and cost. We reserve the right not to accept any repair that we do not feel we can complete satisfactorily. During some times of the year the wait for a repair may exceed four weeks. Please understand that on weekends we are frequently too busy to offer the level of customer service you deserve when dropping off a repair. Please stop in any weekday and let us assist you with your beaded jewelry repairs.

  • Stringing Repairs that require you to leave your piece with us involves a flat rate charge of $32.00 per hour, with a 15-minute (or $8.00) minimum for each repair.
  • Knotting Repairs that require you to leave your piece with us involves a flat rate charge of $40.00 per hour, with a 15-minute (or $10.00) minimum for each repair.

All work is warranted against defect of materials and/or workmanship for seven (7) days after pickup with the original receipt. Please be certain to inspect your repair immediately upon pickup.

   
  Custom Work
 

Customers often bring us broken or worn-out jewelry and/or new materials to be made into finished jewelry. This is actually custom work. By definition, custom work is the redesign and/or reworking of one or more pieces of existing jewelry and/or new materials.

Currently Beadworks Boston, Cambridge and Salem do not provide custom work services. But, most custom work we can actually teach you to do yourself. We teach classes year round, we lend tools in the shops, sell most necessary materials, and offer friendly staff support on weekdays. Please visit one of our shops for advice and assistance on making the jewelry you want to wear.
